Masters of the far east

I encounter a lot of surprises when I tell people I am a programmer (to make it easier for some people I just say "nerd") during a discussion about life and my very "devine" (hard to describe in english) look on it. Though this combination is not very uncommon under us "techies". (bob comes to mind see his homepage of his company werken.com)
Just a must read for all you esoteric techies : Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East (dutch title : Meesters van het verre oosten), by Baird T Spalding (btw the link doesn't link to the exact same version of the book that I have..)
It's my new bible and it opened my eyes ago when I went living in Isla Margarita (Venezuela) a couple of years ago.
Nifty detail : My grandfather bought the first print of this book before 1972. He was way ahead of his time and already let go of the things we were told to value so much.

Hmm You can use an rss reader. Since feedreader takes too much memory, last time I used it, you can have a go at spaces. The rss process is pull and subscribtions are not provided here. Posted by: Martin van den Bemt on February 19, 2003 08:14 PM
Masters of the Far East Hi Martin! I first heard the cassette tapes of these books in 1990 and knew immediately that I had found something that would impact my life. I was already a student of A Course in Miracles and these books/tapes are like the Course come to life! Within five months of hearing these tapes and subsequently buying the books I had a mystical experience similiar to a Near-Death Experience (See my link above if you are interested.) In my experience I went to Heaven and met God. By the way, God sends His Love to you! Yeah me too--these books are a bible to me. I continue to read and listen to these and am practicing their advice. Will we ever meet the Masters or reach their level of awareness? I'm not sure but that doesn't worry me. I just take it one day at a time and continue the practice knowing I am progressing and at the same time serving all mankind. Drop me an email if you feel like talking about any of it. Peace to you and all those who visit here. Hugs! Laurie Posted by: Laurie on March 3, 2004 06:37 AM
I,too, have been a student of ACIM and found it a long step toward the realization "God I am". I was "given" volume 3 of Teachings by Baird T. Spa;ding a few months ago and have been busy reading the whole series ever since. I live in Hawaii and I have yet to encounter more than a few people who take the teaching of ACIM or Master of the Far East seriously. It would be good to hear from Me(you) about your(MY) experiences with these concepts. Love, Joy and Peace, Jerry Posted by: Jerry Smith on December 19, 2005 03:25 AM
