In reaction to ShareMes log about mothersday. Maybe some tips for all you people with parents :)
My mother started complaining about ten years ago that on mothersday she always had to do stuff, like making coffee, having cake, having something to eat, just because the kids came to visit her. It was becoming an obligation instead of something chearfull and greatfull. My sister, who always has great ideas : She proposed to have a parentsday. So skip mothers and fathers day, just take the parents out for a day or weekend and take care of everything (driving them around, finding another zoo with monkeys (my mom loves them..), go to disneyland, etc,etc).
Just like your parents did for you when you were a kid, they had to figure out what to do when you are bored, have to find a nice place to spend the holidays.
This year it is my turn to think up something nice for my parents. I wonder if there is a place we didn't go to yet.. sigh..
So celebrate parentsday instead of mothers and fathers day, the parents love that :)
its going to cost me bigtime this year : one girlfriend, me and her 2 kids..
I am starting with poetry on my weblog. Since I also have another weblog, which is more anonymous than this one, I think some stuff will appear on the anonymous one :)

you're dreams have made you sweat
We are eating crips, lots of crisps. The kids want beyblades. They are little spinners that are enclosed in the the lays crisps (we call them chips in dutch, but that is another story). They just released new beyblades, they are bigger than the other ones. The kids will be surprised that I have big beyblades (or when they see them, I had big beyblades).
Pokemon, beyblades, where does it end.
I want to appologies for being narrow minded btw. I just became sort of a parent thingy thing, so I just got exposed to money eating hypes, that will be forgotten before you have paid off your debts for buying them.
Wonder what is next..
I am sailing to england from the 6th untill the 15th of june (for people who don't know where I am : I am in holland :) . Would be cool to meet some people when I arrive :)
I will arrive the 7th early in the morning in Suffolk, monday on Woolverstone, Burnham, Crouch, BrightlingSea thursday back to suffolk and after that back to holland. So if someone wants to meet up, let me know ;)
Because of this trip (and taking the internet as my responsibility), I wonder if someone has an isp dialup account that I can "borrow", so I can update the website daily with some photo's and a travel report, for the ones staying behind.. Don't if it is needed (if there are internet cafes, that would be easier, but never been in that area), so if one of you could help me out, that would be really great..
An extra note :
The problem with sailing is of course the weather. The trip could also take 48 hours (no wind or a very bad break) or the route can be changed because of weather conditions (or even canceled if there is a heavy storm coming).
Finally there is a eclipse plugin to support ssh2 (and key authentication!), without the annoying dos boxes popping up. Did not try it yet, but the idea is great alrady :)

What a mess tonight. Thought I test out a wireless PCMCIA network card for my parents. Busy whole night. The damned bugger wont install at all. It gives a file not found message. Nowhere to be found where the hell the file is. No ddk near the place where I am to check for invalid entries in the INF file, tried to tweak the inf file a bit, but still if barfs.
Sitecom sucks and should stop doing business.
This is not the first time the last couple of weeks I had to help out my parents to get stuff installed. They throw a cd at you and you just follow the manual, but ziltch happens.
Why the hell won't companies test their shit before they sell such things?
They cannot even give you the correct support.
I am the sucker who helps them by making the life of my parents better, but it takes me too much time.
Time to send some VERY big bills to those suppliers..
